Khelxa

Overview

Khelxa is a UI/UX design concept for a sports media platform catering to Nepali sports fans. The platform addresses the real frustrations of watching live sports in Nepal — buffering streams, long live delays, and unreliable platforms — by proposing a clean, intuitive interface built around a reliable streaming architecture.

Problem

Nepali sports fans lack a dedicated, high-quality platform for national and international sports coverage. Existing solutions have poor UX, unreliable streams, and no localization for Nepal's sports ecosystem. Khelxa aims to fill this gap with a premium, user-first design.

Design Process

• User research: interviews and surveys with sports fans in Kathmandu
• Competitive analysis of existing sports streaming platforms
• Information architecture and user flow mapping
• Low-fidelity wireframes for core screens
• High-fidelity Figma designs with a full design system
• Interactive prototype with micro-animations and transitions

Key Screens

• Home feed with live, upcoming, and recent matches
• Live watch screen with real-time scores and commentary
• Sports category browsing (Football, Cricket, Volleyball, etc.)
• Player and team profiles
• News and highlights section
• User profile and subscription management

Design Decisions

A dark-first color palette was chosen to reduce eye strain during night watching sessions. A bold accent system differentiates live vs. upcoming vs. past events at a glance. Typography uses a mix of a strong display typeface for scores and headers with a highly legible body font for commentary and news content.
